Escon Software Licensing Terms

Escon Software licensing policy falls into a number of broad categories:

Licensing Terms

We believe the licensing scheme is simple, upfront and equitable. Our software licenses entitle you to perpetual use, and include 12 months maintenance (updates/support) commencing from the date of purchase. Renewing maintenance is entirely optional.

Licensing fees are quoted per total number of 'service representatives' (technicians / specialists / support stuff / agents), while the number of customers (end users / service users) is not limited.
The minimum license amount is 3 service representative for every product.

The Commercial/Academic license entitles you to:

  • Deploy a single instance of Escon Software in a production environment on 1 server accessible by the number of users licensed
  • Perpetual software use
  • Software maintenance for 12 months - including all updates and online support

An academic license is available for qualified educational and academic institutions (learn more).

Please read the End User License Agreement (EULA) for more details.

All orders (including credit card orders) are processed manually within one business days. Licenses are made available only upon receipt of successful payment. With all orders, we'll send a invoice and end user licensing agreement (EULA) via email.

Software Maintenance (Support & Updates)

Beyond this initial 12 month period, you may renew your software maintenance for a further 12 months at our discounted renewal prices.

To understand the value that active software maintenance provides, please see: 'Why Renew HelpDesk Maintenance?'

Note: Maintenance renewals commence from the expiration of your active maintenance period, regardless of when the maintenance renewal is purchased. If you intend to renew, we recommend renewing at least 30 days before expiration.

Community Licenses

Escon Software is free for use by official non-profit organizations and charities (proof of non-profit status is required). There are certain organizations whose purpose is to make the world a better place, and we believe in helping them achieve that.

Community licenses are designed for organizations which are:

  • non-profit,
  • non-government,
  • non-academic,
  • non-commercial,
  • non-political and
  • secular

in nature, that would not otherwise be able to afford commercial software. If your organization is philanthropic in nature then you probably qualify.
